The St Louis Cardinals head to San Francisco to battle the Giants in the first of a three-game NL series on Monday night.
Giants’ ace Kevin Gausman will get the nod for the 17th time of the season to open the series. The veteran right-hander is having a tremendous season and is enjoying a stellar 1.68 ERA and a 0.81 WHIP in 101.2 innings of work.
Kwang Hyun Kim is on the hill for the 13th time of the year in the series opener. The second-year southpaw has been solid in four out of his last five starts and enters with a solid 3.79 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP accompanied by a 2-5 record in 59.1 innings of action.
The Giants are one of the best home teams in the Majors where they have only lost 11 times all season, while the Cardinals are well below .500 on the road.
