Round 1 of the French L1 sees defending champions Lile travel to the Stade Municipal Saint-Symphorien to take on Metz.

Metz had their best finish in L1 with a 10th place last season. However, their home form was not that great and will need to improve if they want to become an established L1 side.

Lille remain one of the best sides in L1 as shown by o ly 3 losses in last term’s campaign. They were the league’s best travellers last season and with a history of starting well in matchday 1 they will be confident going into this match.
