Euro 2020 – Semi-Final 1

Italy and Spain meet at Wembley Stadium for the first Euro 2020 semi-final.

Italy beat  Belgium in the QF to become the nation with the second most major tournament semi-final appearances (12). They’ve also set a new Euro Championship record for winning 15 consecutive Euro matches! They’ve cruized through the group stages without conceding a single goal (regulation time), but gave one away against Belgium in the QF. Italy have won 12 of their last 13 internationals (D1), and also won the drawn game in extra time. They are the favourites here for good reason.

Spain didn’t have such an easy run in this tournament as their opponenets have, drawing two of their group matches, with some luck on their side in terms of own goals and having to win their previous two play-off games after regulation time (ET, Pen). However, they’ve scored 12 goals so far in this tournament and rank second for attempts at goal per game (19), behind Italy in first place (20.2).

We believe the Italians have the better form and they come into this game on much more momentum than the Spaniards. We are backing Italy to get the win here.
