Euro – Play Offs – Final

We will see whether football is coming home or to Rome this evening when Italy and England face each other in the EURO 2020 final at Wembley Stadium. The Three Lions are eyeing their first major trophy since 1966 when they won the World Cup title, but they will have a mountain to climb in the decider.

It is a fitting final with both these two sides having impressed from their first group fixture all the way to this point. Italy have not fallen behind at any stage so far in the tournament, combining experienced defensive steel with an extravagant attack. After conceding their first goal of the tournament so far in the semi-final before coming back to ultimately win after extra time, England once again proved to the naysayers why making it this far hasn’t been an accident, with the loud Wembley crowd no doubt a huge factor once again.

Both these sides have only conceded 1 goal each so far, and neither of the goals were from open play. Italy conceding from the penalty spot against Belgium, and England through that rocket of a free-kick by Damsgaard. This all points towards a low scoring game, where we would not at all be surprised to see a 1-0, or a 1-1 final score and the game going to extra time.

We do however feel that the Italians have had the more challenging route to the final and this should benefit them tonight, which is why we’re backing them to not lose within the 90.
