Ireland played out a bruising game against an inspired Japan outfit last weekend, but having leaked 31 points will be a matter of concern, especially when they need to face the Americans this weekend, who managed to get 29 points past the English last time out.

Andy Farrel has named 8 uncapped players in his squad to face the USA, with these players players eager to put their hand up and secure their spots while some of their team mates are away on Lions duty. USA rugby, spearheaded by Gary Gold in the coaching box, is firmly on the up with an encouraging display last weekend at Twickenham, and I do however expect a brave showing from the Americans that will keep them within the cap.
