Czech Republic vs England
Euro 2020 – Round 3
Wembley Stadium will host Group D derby between Czech Republic and England. The 3-Lions know that a draw will be enough to see them through to the knockout stages, but a win will put them in a much more desired position, and provide them with another match in London in the next round.
England failed to impress in a goalless draw with Scotland, and, as a result, Gareth Southgate should opt to make changes to the starting XI. Both Jack Grealish and Marcus Rashford are pushing for a start, with Harry Maguire likely to play some part after overcoming his injury. The Czechs’ 1-1 result vs Croatia on matchday two marked the first competitive occasion since June 2017 (Norway, 1-1) to see them drop points after enjoying a HT lead, while it was also just the second occasion since that match to see them play out a stalemate (W22, D2, L17). The counter-attacking style they’ve adopted so far in this tournament might mean a cagey affair here against a goal-shy England.
